The Government have published an update to the How to Rent Guide – the guide for tenants and landlords in the private rented sector to help them understand their rights and responsibilities.
All agents, landlords and property managers must serve the latest version of the guide at the start of any new tenancy or on the renewal of an existing tenancy; it forms part of the mandatory information that landlords are required to serve and failure to do so will impact the right to repossess under Section 21.
At Inventory Hive, we have automatically updated the link to the guide from the Gov.uk website, meaning that any new reports that are utilising our Document Serving feature, created from this afternoon, will have the updated guide attached to the tenant communications as standard. No update is required to the android or iOS apps.
For any client that has created and is utilising a pre-existing master report, please ensure that you update your master report manually with the new guide.
