Software Update – v.1.11.19 – Two-Step Authentication, Dictation change and bug fixes

Two-Step Authentication

At Inventory Hive, we take security extremely seriously, and our latest software update has security at the heart of it with the introduction of Two-Step Authentication as an extra layer of protection in terms of accessing your account.

If you lose your device, having Two-Step Authentication enabled on your Inventory Hive account will give you the added peace of mind that the data contained within your account via the app will be harder for anyone to access as they would require access to your authentication method also.

We’ve produced a useful support article, found here, which will walk you through the steps of setting up Two-Step Authentication on your log-in credentials.  (You must be logged into your account to view.)

Dictation on iOS

Since 2020, anyone using the Inventory Hive app with an Apple/iOS device, will have noticed a microphone icon button which activated the dictation tool.  This was brought in following iOS updates that affected the devices’ native dictation facility.  Following further, recent iOS updates, the native dictation tool has been fixed by Apple, meaning that the additional button on iOS devices is now redundant.

As such, the microphone button underneath the free-type boxes has been removed to standardise the interface between android and iOS apps, but rest assured, you can still access the dictation tool by simply opening up the keyboard on your device and clicking the microphone button there, in exactly the same way as the feature used to work.

Bug Fixes

The updated app also includes some bug fixes in terms of reports of font and display variations in the enhanced text tools on iOS devices, to include:

  • Standardised font size when text is copied from another source.
  • Pre-formatted template spacing applied within a report.
  • Enhanced text tool icons refreshed for accounts with the Custom Branding add-on.
  • Tenant details in the Signatures & Approvals section made read-only to prevent accidental overwriting.

App Update Required – PLEASE READ

Our browser version updates have been pushed-live already – so there’s no action required there (happens automatically). An update is required to install the latest features on your iOS or Android devices though, which can be accessed here for convenience: iOS (Apple) Appstore found here and; Android Google Playstore found here.

Please ensure that you update your app version (if auto-updates are not installed on your device) otherwise you will not be able to take advantage of these features on the older app version.
