Software Update – v.1.11.18 Fire Door Compliance and enhanced text options

Fire Door Compliance

The Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 have now come into force and it is now a legal requirement that responsible persons for all multi-occupied residential buildings in England with storeys over 11 metres in height to:

  • Undertake quarterly checks of all fire doors in common parts;
  • Undertake annual checks of all apartment entrance doors that lead onto a buildings’ common parts.

Whilst our Fire Risk Assessment and Fire Door custom reports are perfect for your compliance of these requirements, we have introduced a Fire Door Compliance section to all of our standard report types to allow you to integrate checking the aspects of the apartment and HMO fire doors as part of your everyday inspections to alert you to any potential defects as early as possible, outside of your obligatory fire risk assessment requirements. We want to ensure that you have the option of reporting as best practice outside of your mandatory requirements, in order to allow you to potentially identify defects before they become a major issue.

If the property that you are assessing does not fall into the category of requiring fire doors, simply bypass the section.

Enhanced Text Options

Are there issues that are so important that you want to highlight them to stand out on your report, either to a tenant, landlord or property manager? Well, we have now introduced an enhanced text option available in the free-type section of the items that you report on which will allow you to do any or all of the following:

  • Display text as Bold;
  • Display text as Underlined;
  • Display text in Italics;
  • Display text as Highlighted.
