Software Update – v.1.13.0 – Tenant Process Enhancements (App update required)

Here at Inventory Hive, we are always looking to release improvements to the software, and after listening to feedback from our users, our latest software update focuses primarily on the tenant structure and reporting process.

Editing Tenant Details

We have always previously locked down tenant details from being edited when reports have been submitted in order to maintain the integrity of the software, so that completed reports cannot be retrospectively altered or manipulated. Our feedback has been that there are legitimate circumstances where some tenant details need to be amended (name change due to marriage or deed poll, for example), meaning that there will be user requirements to amend these details. We have therefore made it possible, through this update, to:

  • Edit the name, email address and contact telephone number of a tenant;
  • Provide a reason for the edit in order to save the change;
  • Audit the changes by the user details, date, time and reason for the edit being logged.

The changes provide flexibility, but maintain records for audit purposes to demonstrate that the records have been altered, to maintain the integrity of the software. Assigning Tenants to Reports

We have made some enhancements to the Tenant structure which allows you to assign specific tenants within a tenancy to specific reports. This is a useful addition to make the process of adding or removing tenants from a tenancy smoother, for example, in terms of HMO or student accommodation where there are multiple tenants who may have different tenancy move-in dates or differing tenancy lengths.

The main enhancements to the process are:

  • Individual tenant start and end dates recorded;
  • Drag and drop the tenants you wish to include in, or exclude from, a report;
  • Tenants with a historic tenancy end date will be automatically excluded from future reports.

Excluding descriptions when copying report data

One of the efficiencies of the software is the ability to copy data from one report to another, so that you only need to update descriptions that have changed, or refresh your images. We have now added an option whereby you can copy the contents of a report, in terms of the room configuration, layout and items contained, but exclude the descriptions from copying across.

This has the ability to maintain a side-by-side room and item comparison, but allows you flexibility to make wholesale changes to the written element of your report, without the need to constantly delete out existing descriptions. App Update Required – PLEASE READ

Our browser version updates have been pushed-live already – so there’s no action required there (happens automatically). An update is required to install the latest features on your iOS or Android devices though, which can be accessed here for convenience: iOS (Apple) Appstore found here and; Android Google Playstore found here.

Please note that due to the nature of the changes to the software, all users will be required to update the app in order to continue to use the app. Please ensure that you update your app version (if auto-updates are not installed on your device) otherwise you will not be able to log back into the software via the app.
