Software Update – Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Alarm compliance features (v.1.11.15)

The Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm (Amendment) Regulations 2022 come into force on the 1st October 2022 in England with similar regulations (with variations in requirements) coming into force in all areas of the UK.  To accommodate the greater onus on landlords and property managers to ensure that all smoke and carbon monoxide alarms are present where required and working in a rental property, an item compliance check has been introduced to the software and will automatically be applied when any of the following pre-programmed items are present within a room:

  • Smoke Alarm
  • Carbon Monoxide Alarm
  • Heat Sensor / Smoke Alarm
  • Fire Alarm

We have added a feature whereby an alarm expiry date can be set within a report which, when approaching the last three months of the alarm lifecycle, will trigger monthly email reminders to ensure that you never overlook an alarm expiring.

In addition, we have also created a Property Compliance section that is present now on all standard report types, as well as adding the maintenance reporting features to the check-in and inventory report types (previously the latter was only available on ‘Interim Visit’ and ‘Check-out’ reports).
